What is electronic repeat dispensing?

An alternative way of getting your regular medicines without asking your GP surgery for a prescription every time.

Time Saving- Instead of needing to order your prescription

every month from your local surgery or pharmacy,

your prescription will be waiting for you at your nominated

pharmacy each time. You will have 3 - 12 months of

your prescription already signed by your doctor and you will not need to re-request within this time or until notified.

Will anyone keep an eye on my current prescriptions?

Before dispensing the next issue of your prescription,

your pharmacy will ask you the following questions:

• Have you seen any health professional (GP, nurse or

hospital doctor), since your last repeat prescription was supplied?

• Have you recently started taking any new medicines – either on prescription or that you have bought over the counter?

• Have you been having any problems with your medication or experiencing any side effects?

• Are there any items on your repeat prescription that you don't need this month?
